Last year in 2016 the readesr of the local newspaper called Vantaan Sanomat voted Café Berry as the best café in Vantaa. We went to test the café and made it June´s Café of the Month. If you can read Finnish here’s the article. Below a picture of the diploma.
The location of the café is superb. No wonder it has become so popular amongst locals and visitors of Martinlaakso district, as it is in the Martsari Mall, right next to the Martinlaakso Railway Station (15min from Helsinki City centre and 10min from Helsinki Airport).
We went the on a Friday afternoon when the mall was pretty empty but the café almost full.
The café also offer lunch for a reasonable price. You can choose between soup, salad, baked potatoe or a sandwich. The lunch menú below (only in Finnish).
They have many organic products as well as and gluten- & lactosefree product like this lovely chocolate cafe below in the picture. Yammyy!!
Look at these fun, different ways to serve Ice tea or Mango Cheese Cake.
Keep this palce in mind when you are planning a day trip to the neighbourhood. It’s a great place for a great cup of coffee and for resting your feet. You’ll be like one of the locals. One stop away from Martinlaakso, in Louhela, you’ll find the world famous Church of Myyrmäki. It was designed by the architect Mr Juha Leiviskä and it´s known as the Church of Light. It recieves visitors from all around the world. Only two stops away (by train) you’ll find the colourfull Art district, Myyrmäki, where Artsi, the art museum of the City is located. Starting this Month (June) there will be guided tours in Myyrmäki taking you to see the beautiful street art.
