Into the nature

Although an urban city Vantaa has a lot of green areas: parks, forest and fields. Also the two rivers, Vantaa river and Kerava river are very important recreational areas to the locals and visitors. Where else can you fish only 15min from  Airport like in Vantaa at the Vantaakoski rapids?!
Kuusijärvi lake is the most popular recreational area in Vantaa where the sauna’s are heated for guests every day of the year. It is also very popular among ice swimmers. Check out below what to do and where to go for a great day outdoors!

The Vantaa River - video!

The scenic and historical riverside and the Old File Factory.

I stayed at Sokos Hotel Vantaa right next to Tikkurila Station. Very urban I thought until I found the lovely paths along the river right next to Heureka. You can follow the river all the way to Church of St.Lawrence! Here’s the route on map!  Kathrina, Minden Germany.
